Wood Mood Works was born in 2021 amidst the pandemic, from a personal connection with wood, a desire to create, and a need and curiosity for original design; it quickly grew into a professional brand.
Wood Mood Works is a brand that works exclusively with solid wood. Unless it's a special order, we never use wood veneer on MDF or particle board in any of our products.
All the oils, varnishes, and colorants we use:
- Contains no volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and does not contain chemicals harmful to the environment or health.
- It has formulations suitable for human health and international safety and sustainability certifications.
In short, we produce not only with natural materials but also with surface treatments that respect nature and people. Solid wood is a sustainable, renewable, breathable material that aesthetically withstands the test of time. We process this natural structure with an environmentally conscious production approach.
Wood Mood Works stands against the fast-paced consumer culture. Instead of short-lived, unhealthy mass-produced goods, we create furniture that can be passed down through generations and gain value over time.
We also work to preserve the deep-rooted culture of carpentry, enhance the value of craftsmanship, and ensure that this profession is passed on to future generations.
Even in today's age of artificial intelligence and virtual reality, we believe that: AI can create models; but it cannot understand the grain, smell, or warmth of a piece of wood. What truly brings a piece of furniture to life is the craftsman's touch.
Our unique design philosophy is also part of this approach. We do not use images taken from Pinterest or foreign websites on our website. Our designs are our own. Therefore, we protect many of our designs by registering them as trademarks.

The brand's founder and designer, Okan Gönen, is a graduate of Yeditepe University's Industrial Product Design program. His approach, which combines design culture with craftsmanship, forms the character and unique stance of Wood Mood Works.
